Drink fresh and slightly cooled tea
Very hot, burning tea might damage your digestive
system and promote throat cancer. In the fresh tea are the best amount of
vitamins and antioxidants while over the time they reduce through oxidation.
Also old tea can contain bacteria.
Use the same leaves in moderation
Brewing the same leaves reduces the tea’s good
benefits and drawn out the cancerous substances (usually pesticides).
Avoid very concentrated tea
Too strong tea has massive amount of caffeine and
polyphenols that can cause indigestion, tremors and heart palpitations.
Don’t use tea and medications or supplements that can conflict with each other
The some compounds in green tea may have
unpleasant effect interacting with certain substances. Before using ask your
doctor or pharmacist if the medications do not have side effects using with
green tea.
Don’t drink too much
It is recommended to drink not more than 6 cups of
green tea per day, preferable 3 – 4 cups for best health benefits.
Drink one hour before or after meals
Drinking tea with meals can block absorption of
nutrients. Some compounds in the tea can slow down the absorption of calcium
and non-heme iron. To reduce this effect put the milk in your tea.
Avoid tea with alcohol
Drinking tea with alcohol can be harmful to your kidney
system and sexual organs. Drink green tea without any extras or pour a bit of
milk in it to reduce the effect of caffeine.
Although the green tea contains less amount of the
caffeine than coffee or black tea, some people are sensitive even to small
levels. To avoid this problem drink decaffeinated
green tea or buy high quality
Japanese green tea such as gyokura. This type of green tea contains
higher amounts of theanines that have a calming effect on the brain and reduce
the effects of the caffeine.
